Barstool ItGirl (previously Chicks) is a brand extension of Barstool Sports that activates on college campuses nationwide through student-led content, social engagement, and on-campus brand representation. As a Co-Account Manager for JMU’s chapter (@JMUChicks), I help oversee the strategy, content, and community engagement across Instagram, TikTok, and Twitter.
In this role, I stay in consistent communication with our Barstool Sports HQ liaison and operate under their guidance but independently create the vast majority of our content. I manage day-to-day execution while ensuring every piece aligns with Barstool’s broader brand identity and resonates with the JMU community, leading to a ~32% increase in Instagram followers since gaining access to the account.
CONTENT CREATION & ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT

Design graphics and manage submissions that capture JMU's culture while maintaining Barstool’s established voice.

Actively track engagement patterns and use these insights to inform future content strategy.

Promptly follow directions of Barstool HQ when asked to push Barstool promotional items on socials.

Ensure all posts comply with Barstool Sports’ legal and brand restrictions, including music licensing, image usage, and platform-specific guidelines, allowing us to grow creatively while staying within corporate standards.
EVENT PROMOTION & ASSISTANCE

Supported Barstool Sports’ annual “Best College Town” Tournament by helping represent JMU and drive campus-wide participation.

Collaborated with @BarstoolJMU to mobilize student engagement that pushed Harrisonburg, VA into the Final Four, earning a Barstool-sponsored voting party.

Assisted the visiting Barstool HQ team during the event with giveaways, man-on-the-street interviews, and real-time content creation to capture the energy of the night.
